Cecil Albert Sanders, 79, of Harrisonville, MO died Monday, August 30, 2010 at the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. Memorial services 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 2, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Harrisonville. Private family inurnment will be held in Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville. (Cremation).
Cecil was born June 1, 1931 in Picher, Oklahoma, the son of William A. and Mary (Caulkins) Sanders. He married Fannie V. Lackey on March 30, 1951 in Kansas City, MO.
Cecil worked for Honeywell for over 32 years, retiring as a Senior Buyer in 1986. During those 32 years he lived in Raytown, MO for 27 years and spent 5 years in Ann Arbor, MI. He retired and moved to Harrisonville where they lived for 25 years. Cecil was a member of the Harrisonville United Methodist Church and the Junior Chamber of Commerce; he was a Boy Scout leader and member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, BSA and was a Cass County Sheriff's Special Deputy.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one daughter, Mary V. Oxley. He is survived by his wife, Fannie of the home; two sons, William A. Sanders of Paola, KS and Thomas A. Sanders of Grandview, MO; one daughter, Rebecca V. Crandall of Cleveland, MO; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
