Obituary

Cecil Glenn Knox, 79, of Kansas City, MO, died Friday, April 16, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2010 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO. Visitation will be from 10:00-12:00 Monday at the chapel. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Harrisonville.

Cecil was born October 28, 1930 in Pleasant Hill, MO, a son of Dave Monroe and Rosa Mae (Malicoat) Knox. He grew up in the Harrisonville, MO area. Cecil was united in marriage to Roberta Jean Mossman on July 5, 1952. Cecil was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and after his discharge in 1954, he and Roberta moved to Kansas City. Cecil was a construction superintendent and a heavy equipment operator, working for Hardwick Construction Company and Tri City Construction in Kansas City. He retired in 1992. He was a member of Hoisting and Portable Engineers Union, Local 101 in Kansas City, MO and was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.

Cecil is survived by his wife, Roberta Knox, of the home; a son, Steve Knox and his wife, Patti, Kansas City, MO; two brothers, Ralph Knox, Harrisonville, and Harvey Knox, Urich, MO; three sisters, Joyce Stephens and Mary Miller, both of Adrian, MO, and Phyllis Hughes of Harrisonville, MO; and many, many nieces and nephews.
