Obituary

Carolyn Jean Slover-Wickey, 75, Lenexa, Kansas, formerly of Harrisonville, Missouri, died Saturday, October 11, 2014 at her son's home in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Harrisonville. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, October 13 at the church. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville. The family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice.

Carolyn was born October 22, 1938 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Charles and Cleta Jean (Roberson) Duncan. She grew up in South Kansas City, and was a graduate of Center High School in Kansas City.

Carolyn was involved in banking most of her life, and had worked for the Federal Reserve Bank, Southgate Bank, and retired from North American Savings Bank (NASB) in Grandview as the Branch Assistant Vice-President. She had lived in Grandview from 1967- 2000, Harrisonville from 2000-2010, and moved to Lenexa, KS in 2010, after her marriage to Ray Wickey. Carolyn was very active in church, and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Harrisonville. She also had served on the Prairie View Home Owners Association in Harrisonville.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, a stepfather, Dean Brown, who raised her after her father was killed in WWII, her first husband, Ben Slover, and a son, Ray Slover. She is survived by her husband, Ray Wickey, Lenexa, KS; her son, Paul Slover and wife, Lisa, Harrisonville, MO; a brother, Charles R. Duncan, Houston, TX; a sister, Linda Bohrer, Raymore, MO; a daughter-in-law, Pat Slover, Gardener, KS; two granddaughters, Alexandra and Ireland Slover and many nieces and nephews.
