Carolyn Elizabeth Sidebottom, 81, Kansas City, MO, died Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO.  Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.  Burial in Oakland Cemetery, Harrisonville.

Carolyn was born April 15, 1938 in Canton, IL, a daughter of Granville Arthur and Alta (Beatty) Gorsage.  She was a 1956 graduate of Harrisonville High School.  She married Waido Franklin Sidebottom on April 10, 1959 in Harrisonville, moving to Kansas City to make their home.  Carolyn worked for Farmer's Insurance in Kansas City, MO as a bookkeeper and had also worked for J. C. Penny at the Blue Ridge Mall in Kansas City, MO.  Carolyn was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Independence, MO.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Waido, on November 5, 1997, three brothers, Jesse Ray Gorsage, Calvin Gorsage, and Walter Gorsage, and one sister, Frances Marie Gorsage.  She is survived by one step-daughter, Marsha Nichols (Ronnie), Murrayville, IL; two sisters, Gladys Todd, Independence, MO and Betty Drehle, Harrisonville, MO; numerous nieces and nephews, and three step-granddaughters.
