Gregg
September 11, 1949 – October 29, 2019
Carolyn Sue Gregg, 70, went to be with her Savior at her home in Adrian, MO, on October 29, 2019, after a two-year battle with cancer. Funeral services were held Monday, November 4, 2019, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO. Burial in Altona Cemetery, Adrian, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Blue River Bible Church Missions Fund, Heartland Hospice, or KU Cancer Center.
Carolyn was born on September 11, 1949, in Salina, KS, to Kenneth and Emy Lou (Burkholder) Peterson. Carolyn graduated from Salina High School in 1967 and from Calvary University, formerly Calvary Bible College, in Kansas City, MO, in 1973. She married Reggie Gregg on June 26, 1971, at Salina Bible Church in Salina, KS.
As a young child, Carolyn trusted in Christ as her Savior one night after hearing the faithful teaching of God's Word from her parents. She learned more about God and His Word over the years as she attended Salina Bible Church and Calvary University and studied God's Word herself. Carolyn loved teaching children and did so most of her life! She taught kindergarten at Open Door Baptist School for four years, provided childcare for several families, homeschooled four of her own children, and ministered to many at Blue River Bible Church by working in the church nursery, serving as a Sparks leader in the Awana children's program, and most recently teaching the 2 and 3 year old Sunday School class for over twenty years until her cancer prevented her from doing so any longer.
Carolyn was preceded in death by 2 sweet babies and her parents, Kenneth and Emy Lou Peterson. She is survived by her loving husband, Reggie Gregg of Adrian, MO; children, Carrie Gregg of Peculiar, MO, Christopher Gregg of Adrian, MO; Amy Thompson and husband, Andrew of Belton, MO, Aaron Gregg and wife, Samantha of Raymore, MO, Levi Gregg and wife, Mayleigh of Harrisonville, MO; brother, Lynn Peterson of Abilene, KS; grandchildren, Elijah Thompson, Noah Thompson, Silas Gregg, baby girl Gregg who is due in April; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She will be remembered for her unwavering trust in God, her love for the Lord, her faithful service, and her unconditional love and sacrifice for her family!
