Carole Dean Spears, 67, Peculiar, MO, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at her home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Peculiar Cemetery, Peculiar, MO. Visitation from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Saturday at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO.

Carole was born November 5, 1942 in Boonville, MO, the daughter of Arthur and Maude Marie (Spry) Brownfield. She grew up in Sedalia and graduated from Smith-Cotton High School. She lived in Kansas City and Grandview, MO before moving to Peculiar where she had lived for the last 14 years.

Carole married Tommy C. Spears, Sr. in February, 1961 in Kansas City, MO. She worked in production at Hoechst Marion Roussel, Inc. for 13 years before retiring. She enjoyed making quilts and gardening. Carole was an Orange Belt in karate and was a dance skating champion and competed in tournaments throughout the Midwest. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Tom of the home; one son, Tom Spears, Jr., Peculiar, MO and two grandchildren, Cole Austin Spears and Clayton Thomas Spears.
