Carol Lela Simmons,  85, Raymore, MO, formerly of Harrisonville, MO, died Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Foxwood Springs in Raymore.  Funeral services were held Monday, February 11, 2019 at Antioch Southern Baptist Church in Harrisonville.  Burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

Carol was born November 15, 1933 in Lisle, MO, a daughter of William D. and Daisy Mae (Osburn) Hocker.  She was a 1951 graduate of Archie High School.  She married Glen Allen Simmons on June 14, 1952.  She was a lifelong resident of Harrisonville, MO, moving there in 1958.

Carol worked for Western Electric/AT&T in quality control for 23 years and was a Union Steward for the Communication Workers of America (CWA) for 15 years.  She was a member of the Pioneer Club and the Antioch Southern Baptist Church.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Glen, on September 4, 2012, one brother, Bob Hocker and four sisters, Mary Hocker, Arlene Johnson, Merle Kelley, and Lois Grummer.  She is survived by two sons, Allen Simmons (Karen), Belton, MO, and Charles "Chuck" Simmons (Mona), Raymore, MO; one daughter, Shelley McMurray (Greg), Clinton, MO; one brother, David Hocker (Maureen), Belton; 6 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
