Carl "Turk" Leslie Wimsatt, 79, of Archie, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services were held at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville on Monday, December 2, 2024. Interment  at Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adrian, MO.  Memorial donations are suggested to David's Cupboard Pantry in Archie, MO.

Turk was born on May 12, 1945, in Harrisonville, MO, the son of Johnnie Ledson and Bernice Marie (Fortner) Wimsatt. Turk graduated from Archie High School in 1963. He spent the majority of his working career as a dedicated grounds and facilities maintenance supervisor working with Honeywell for many years, retiring in 2007.  He did have a brief break from 1975 - 1984, where he owned & operated a Service Station & Mechanic Shop under the names of Wimsatt "66" and Archie APCO, before ultimately returning to Honeywell. His devotion to his work was commendable, and his impact on those around him was immeasurable.

A true family man, Turk married Rosa Lee Chapman on July 4, 1964, and together they shared many beautiful years until her passing on June 3, 2004. Turk's love and commitment to his family never wavered, leaving a lasting legacy of love and support felt by all who knew him. Beyond his professional and family life, Turk was deeply involved in his community, actively participating in various activities and services. His kind and compassionate nature touched the lives of many, and his presence will be greatly missed. A proud member of the Archie United Methodist Church and an Eagle Scout, Turk embodied the values of service and integrity throughout his life. His dedication to his faith and community set an example for everyone around him.

Turk was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Norman Wimsatt, and his wife, Rosa Lee Wimsatt. He is survived by his daughter, LeeAnn (Keven) Ford of Archie, MO; his sons: Bryan (Tona) Wimsatt of Mt. Home, Arkansas; and Blake Wimsatt of Archie, MO; his sister, Shirlene Lotspeich of Archie, MO; 6 grandchildren: Melani Cody, Breanna Roberts, Jaycee McDowell, Dalton Wimsatt, Maddi Wimsatt, and Luis Guevara; 4 great-grandchildren; his dog, Toby; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
