Carl "C.D." Douglas Jennings, Jr., 78, of Garden City, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Faith Baptist Church in Harrisonville, MO. Interment in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Harrisonville, MO. 

CD was born on a farm south-west of Harrisonville on December 20, 1947. He was the fifth child and first son born to Carl D. and Ina Claire (Long) Jennings. When he was a young boy, he attended church and Bible School at Pleasant Ridge Church. He attended grade school at Archie and moved with his family to Garden City when he was a freshman in High School. He did not finish High School, but graduated from the school of Hard Knocks. CD moved with his parents to the house that he and Duane own in 1965, and spent the rest of his life living there. 

CD liked farming and made that his life's work until his health forced him to quit. He worked on tractors for lots of his neighbors. Although he never married, he loved children, teasing them and tormenting them all the time. CD was a lover of all animals and had many dogs and cats in his lifetime, but one special dog, Bandit. He was a great lover of country music. He liked to coon hunt when he was able until he couldn't walk at night. 

CD was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters: Carol (Forrest) Wickizer, Cora (Russel) Sparks, and Dona Hensley; and his brother-in-law, Ralph Heckadon. He leaves to mourn his passing, his brothers: Duane Jennings, Jim Jennings, and Jack Jennings; his sister, Lila Heckadon; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
