Carl Everett Deshazer, 92, Grandview, Missouri, formerly of Freeman, Missouri, died Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Life Care Center in Grandview. Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery, Cleveland, Missouri. The family will receive friends 10:00-11:00am Monday, November 21 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Carl was born June 27, 1924 in Freeman, Missouri, a son of Joseph and Ethel (Brummet) Deshazer. Carl grew up in the Freeman area and had lived in Warrenville, Illinois before moving back to Freeman in 1976. He was united in marriage to Geneva Ann York, October 29, 1949.
Carl was a welder and had worked in various welding shops in Illinois and Missouri before his retirement in 1989. He was a member of Grace Christian Tabernacle in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva, on June 15, 1999, his parents, ten brothers and sisters, Oral, Orville, Harold, Loren, Theron, Mary Lou, Mildred, Tressie, Thelma, and Edith, an infant daughter, Brenda Kay, and two grandsons, Andrew Deshazer and Carl Deshazer III.
Carl is survived by three sons, Carl Deshazer Jr. (Debra) Sandwich, Illinois, Jeffrey Deshazer (Cary), Panama City, Florida, and Mark Deshazer (John Stein), Raytown, Missouri. One daughter, Rita Gammon (Steve), Grandview, Missouri. Eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
