Carilla Nola (Courtney) Sisk, 88, Archie, MO, died Monday, August 25, 2008 at Adrian Manor Nursing Home in Adrian. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, August 29, 2008 at the Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, MO. Carilla was born in Winston, MO, the daughter of Thomas Franklin and Anna (Henry) Courtney, Sr. Carilla had two full siblings & seven half and step siblings.

Carilla married Junior Sisk in 1940 in Excelsior Springs, MO. They moved to rural Archie, MO shortly after. Carilla enjoyed doing café work, waitressing & cooking her whole life. She was a member of the Archie Christian Church. She always took the time to speak to everyone. She so enjoyed visiting with her friends at the cafes, the sale barn and on the phone. Junior and Carilla worked together on the farm raising cows, hogs and chickens. All of her grandchildren enjoyed going down to gather the eggs from the chicken house.

Carilla and Junior had four children, Jimmie Sisk, Hank and Anna Mae (Sisk) Stark, Harold Dean and Cheryl Sisk and Billy Sisk and 11 grand children, 20 great-grandchildren 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Carilla was preceded in death by Junior, Anna Mae and infant son, Junior Thomas. She is survived by three siblings and her three sons.

Grandma Sisk was truly one of a kind.
