Byron Carl Payne, Jr., 60 of Sedalia, MO died Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2010 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO with visitation from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Wills Cemetery in Peculiar, MO.

Byron was born June 28, 1949 in Chicago, IL. He graduated from Carl Sandburg High School, near Chicago. On February 21, 1967 he was untied in marriage to Marian Rita in Oak Park, IL.

Byron was an Electronic Engineer for 25 years in Chicago and then became a Public Safety Officer at Longview Community College in Lee's Summit, MO. His favorite hobby included being an amateur ham radio operator; his call was K3LAW.

Byron was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Marian on April 21, 2004. He is survived by one son, Eric Payne and his wife, Janet of Olathe, KS; one daughter, Alicia Percival and her husband, Jerry of Pennsylvania; two grandsons, Dakota John Payne and Keagan Percival; one brother, Steve Payne and one sister Barb, both of Illinois.
