Brigetta Ferkenhoff, 79, Peculiar, Missouri, formerly of Raymore, Missouri, died Saturday, July 25, 2015 at The Rehabilitation Center of Raymore in Raymore, Missouri. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Our Lady of Loudes Catholic Church in Harrisonville. Burial will be held in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, with Rosary at 7:30 p.m., at the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Brigetta was born January 21, 1936 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Harry Joseph and Mary Helen (Fitzgerald) O'Brien. She married William "Bill" H. Ferkenhoff on June 17, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri. Brigetta was a devoted wife and mother and a favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews. Brigetta had lived in Kansas City for 40 years before moving to Harrisonville, where she lived for 17 years. She moved to Peculiar in 1993 and lived there until moving to Raymore in 2003. She was devoted to her Catholic faith, the Blessed Mother, and was a long-time member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville.
Brigetta was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, her best friend and husband of 49 years, Bill, on May 14, 2002, and one granddaughter, Jessica Marie Jackson. She is survived by one daughter, Pamela A. Jackson (Robert L.), Peculiar, Missouri; one son, William T. "Ted" Ferkenhoff (Cindy), Flagstaff, Arizona; two brothers, Paul J. O'Brien (Mary), Newton, Kansas and Edward F. O'Brien (Connie), Tonganoxie, Kansas; two sisters, Anna Goebel, Overland Park, Kansas and Mary Ellen Green (Charlie), Lenexa, Kansas; three grandchildren, Sarah Burke (Patrick), Odessa, Missouri, Robert Jackson (Sarah), Peculiar, Missouri and Catherine Ferkenhoff, Flagstaff, Arizona, and one great-grandson, Bennett Burke.
