Brenda K. Speer, 48, Peculiar, Missouri, died Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.  Funeral services were held May 30, 2018 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri with  burial in Peculiar Cemetery, Peculiar, Missouri.  Contributions to Kansas City Hospice House.

Brenda was born August 26, 1969 in Harrisonville, Missouri, a daughter of Linden Harrel and Beverly Ann (Pihl) Speer. She was a lifelong Peculiar resident and a 1988 graduate of Raymore-Peculiar High School. She loved children and worked at various daycare facilities in the Peculiar area including Kids Kountry. She loved her vacations and the beach. The highlight of her last trip was swimming with the dolphins.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Brenda is survived by a daughter, Paige Speer, Independence, MO; a brother, Rick Speer and wife, Tina of Oklahoma City, OK; a sister, Debbie Shillings, Peculiar, MO; three nephews, Kanyon, Kyle and Cal; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
