Obituary

Bob D. Sellberg, 80, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Friday, April 24, 2015 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Harrisonville with visitation from 1:00-2:00. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harrisonville United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.

Bob was born June 6, 1934 in Lindsborg, Kansas, the son of Ivan Charles and Dorothy M. (Malmgren) Sellberg. He was a 1952 graduate of Lindsborg Kansas High School. Bob attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas for two years and then received his BA in Accounting from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, in 1956. Bob married Helen Lonning on June 10, 1961 in Wichita, Kansas. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Bob worked for Arthur Anderson in Kansas City for 12 years before moving to Harrisonville. In 1972, Bob and Wes Troutt purchased an accounting firm in Harrisonville and opened offices in Harrisonville and Belton, known as Sellberg, Troutt & Co. In 1982 this partnership was dissolved. Bob then moved his office to Raymore, Missouri, Bob D. Sellberg CPA, and retired in 2005.

Bob was a member of the Harrisonville United Methodist Church and had served as the chairman of the finance committee. He was also a member and past president of the Harrisonville Optimist Club, and helped organize and run the Harrisonville Optimist Football program. He was also an active member and president of the Harrisonville Little League Association for many years, and member and officer of Harrisonville Wildcat Booster Club.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Shirley Ellis. He is survived by his wife, Helen, of the home; one son, Michael Sellberg, Ames, Iowa; two daughters, Susan Strong, Lee's Summit and Kari Bliss (Brian), Harrisonville, Missouri; one sister, Marilyn Johnson (Bruce), Glendale, Arizona; a brother-in-law, James Ellis, Dewey, Arizona, and 9 grandchildren, Joshua Strong, Justin Strong, Alyssa Strong, Allee Strong, Erin Sellberg, Brendan Sellberg, Aidan Sellberg, Isaiah Bliss and Micah Bliss.
