Billy Earl Smith, 88 of Harrisonville, MO, died Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville.  Memorial services were held Thursday, November 7, 2019, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.

Billy was born June 9, 1931 in Urich, MO, a son of Albert Earl and Nellie Mabel (Craig) Smith.  He married Evelyn Gertrude Ashford on October 18, 1952 in Harrisonville.  He was a lifelong resident of Cass County.  Billy worked for Anaconda in Harrisonville as a machinist for 30 years.  He was a member of Grace Tabernacle in Harrisonville.  Billy was the last elected City Marshall of Harrisonville.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Evelyn on May 24, 1997, and one son, David Smith.  He is survived by one son, Danny Smith, Harrisonville, MO; one brother, Wayne Smith, Harrisonville, MO; a grandson, Nathan Smith (Deidra); a granddaughter, Justine Smith, and two great-grandchildren, Barrett and Evelyn.
