Billy Jo Hurtie, 58, Harrisonville, Mo died Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Meadow View of Harrisonville, Missouri. Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2016, at Maple Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas.

Billy was born December 2, 1957 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Billie Gene and Hazel Deloris (York) Hurtie. He grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. He married Deborah Diane Fuhr on February 17, 1979 in Kansas City, Kansas. They lived in Belton for seven years before moving to Harrisonville in 1996.

Billy owned and operated Hurtie Auto Body in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a third-generation owner of the business, his grandfather starting the business and later Billy's father took over. Billy also enjoyed drawing.

Billy was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Larry Eugene Hurtie. He is survived by his wife, Debi, of the home; one son, Billy D. Hurtie, Harrisonville, Missouri; one daughter, Brittany Diane Sanders (Robert), Harrisonville, Missouri; his mother, Hazel Hurtie, Spring Hill, Kansas; one brother, Glenn Hurtie, Olathe, Kansas; three sisters, Cindy Hurtie, Spring Hill, Kansas, Sherry Kirby, Anderson, Missouri, Donna A. Owens, Drexel, Missouri, and one granddaughter, Emery Diane Sanders.
