Throughout his working life, he was a proud member of the Union, contributing to the success of many projects while fostering relationships that would last a lifetime. An avid stock car racing enthusiast, Bill spent many joyful weekends at the races, particularly in Nevada, MO, where he found a thrill that few could match. His best racing memory was in 1963 when he won the heat and the feature for Nevada speedway's very first race. It was a $90 win! His passion for racing was only rivaled by the love he had for his family and friends. Often referred to as "Papa Bill," he cherished the moments spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
