Obituary

Billie Sue Ritchey, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 54 on March 21, 2025, at the KC Hospice House, surrounded by her loving husband and children. Born on April 13, 1970, in Kansas City, Missouri, Billie brought light and warmth to all those around her with her kind and nurturing spirit.

Billie's journey in life was marked by love, dedication, and creativity. As a young adult, she pursued a career in hairstyling, eventually owning her own salon in Drexel, Missouri. However, her most treasured role was that of a devoted mother to her six children, Shelby, Brian, Shawn, Sara, Shane, and Brenna. Billie found immense joy in motherhood and later in her life, she transitioned into nursing, providing care and compassion to the residents of a retirement home and Cass County Hospital.

In addition to her professional pursuits, Billie was known for her passion for crafting and sewing. She poured her heart into creating beautiful handmade gifts for her loved ones and brightening the lives of everyone she met. Her talents and generosity shone through in each intricate craft she lovingly made.

Billie's family was the center of her world, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and togetherness. Her husband, Keith Ritchey; her parents, George and Linda Lemasters; and her siblings: Linda (Stoney) Cox, George (Jennifer) Lemasters, and Marion Gilbert, will forever cherish the memories they shared with her. Billie's greatest joys were her children and grandchildren: Shelby's children: Sophia, Abigail, Levi, Olivia; Brian's children: Isabelle, Hayden, Matteo, Skyler, Connor, Angel, Phoenix; Shawn and (Ashley)'s child. Logan; Sara's children: Arabella, RJ, Rylee; Shane and (Kinzi)'s child Braxton; Brenna and (Austin)'s child, Weston. Her role as a grandmother brought her boundless happiness, and she took pride in nurturing and guiding each grandchild.

Known for her love of fishing and spending time on the lake, Billie's free spirit and zest for life were evident in all that she did. Her special bond with her aunt, Jodi, added an extra layer of love and support throughout her life, creating cherished memories and moments of laughter.

A private ceremony will be held to honor and celebrate Billie's life with her family, reflecting the intimate and loving connection they shared. Billie's light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, leaving a lasting legacy of compassion, creativity, and unwavering love.
