Betty Jean Weir, 85, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in Conroe, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 13 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri, with visitation from 6:00-7:00. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 14 at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Harrisonville, Missouri.

Betty was born September 11, 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Jack Hoffsette and Galalia Zink. She had lived in the Kansas City area before moving to Houston, Texas in 1976. Betty had worked for Western Electric in Lee's Summit, Missouri and had worked as a hostess for Red Lobster from 1972-1992, both in Kansas City and Houston.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Donald and her grandson, Bryan. She is survived by her children, Gary Lynn, Lincoln, California, Jack Lynn, Shawnee, Kansas and Marcia Ford, Archie, Missouri; 6 grandchildren, Jacque, Chad, Jacqueline, Stacey, Eric and Paula; 12 great-grandchildren, Audrey, Mila, Nathan, Evan, Zachary, Kayla, Jordan, Mason, Alex, Austin, Andrea and Liam; and one great-great-grandchild, Cloee.
