Betty Jo Walker, 85, Harrisonville, MO, died Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville. Services will be held at a later date with inurnment in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO. Betty was born March 1, 1926 in Wichita, KS, the daughter of Howard Leslie and Edith Marie (Stone) Jackson. She married Marvin A. Walker on November 15, 1945 in Hutchinson, KS where she lived until moving to Harrisonville where she had lived for 30 years. She had also lived in Coal City, IL, Clinton, OK, Osceola, MO and Pleasant Hill, MO.

Betty worked for the Democrat-Missourian newspaper as a bookkeeper. She was a Methodist and was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star in Hutchinson, KS.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, a stillborn daughter, Myra Jana Walker and a brother, Robert G. Jackson. She is survived by her husband, Marvin A. Walker, of the home; one son, Wayne Walker and his wife, Vikky, Springfield, MO; one daughter, Teresa Titus, Pleasant Hill, MO; one brother, William Howard Jackson, Hutchinson, KS; 4 grandchildren, Jesse Walker, Kelli Coble, Brook Gray and Dani Titus; 7 great-grandchildren; other nieces and nephews.
