Betty Jean Kenney, 69, Archie, Missouri, died Friday, May 9, 2014 at Adrian Manor in Adrian, Missouri. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 14 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Archie. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Robert Blizzard.

Betty was born September 16, 1944 in Germany, the daughter of Col. Thomas A. and Lois E. (Warner) Capper. She was a 1962 graduate of Leavenworth High School and a 1986 graduate of State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri, where she received her L.P.N.

Betty married James Ray Kenney on August 3, 1990 in Miami, Oklahoma. She worked for numerous nursing homes. She loved to crochet, do crossword puzzles, being at the lake, Elvis and watching her grandchild, Robert. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, James, of the home; one daughter, Chandra Marie Shockley (Al), Raymore, Missouri; one son, Kyle Edward Bost, Eldon, Missouri; one sister, Judith E. Burns (Robert), Prescott, Arizona; her best friend, Janet "Cookie" Carver, Stover, Missouri; three grandchildren, Robert A. Blizzard, of the home, Tim Shockley (Sherry), Judsonia, Arkansas and Tammy Lamb, Raymore, Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Sean Lamb, Raymore, and Dallas and Bianca Shockley, Judsonia, Arkansas; two great-great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Tucker, Judsonia, Arkansas; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
