Betty "Joan" Houts, 75, Chilhowee, MO, died Saturday, January 28, 2017 at her home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2 at the Chilhowee Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Twin Lakes Hospice, Clinton, MO.
Joan was born May 30, 1941 in Lebanon, MO, the daughter of William Ray and Delia Fern (Presley) Dodge. She married Vernon Ray Houts on March 16, 1988. She had lived in Adrian, MO before moving to Chilhowee.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, a daughter, Brenda Leutzinger in February, 2008, and her husband, Vernon on October 14, 2010. She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Lynn Blankenship, St. Louis, MO, Susan Montez Niquette, Chilhowee, MO; stepson, Vernon Ray Houts, II; three stepdaughters, Chrystine Hendrickson, Ruth Scott, Alice Duncan; brother, Stanley Moore; two sisters, Patricia Irvin and Kathy Morgan, and 16 grandchildren.
