Betty L. Burger, 87, Harrisonville, MO, died Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Crown Care Center, Harrisonville. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.

Betty was born July 20, 1930 in Harrisonville, the daughter of David William and Ollie M. (Dykes) Burger. She was a 1949 graduate of Harrisonville High School and a lifelong Harrisonville resident. She was a member of the Harrisonville Christian Church and the Ladies VFW Auxiliary #4409, Harrisonville. She worked in commercial and residential cleaning, often referring to herself as "The Old Cleaning Lady."

Betty was preceded in death by her lifelong companion, Charlie Sherwood, her parents; three sisters, Sadie Marie Hunter, Georgia Mattingly and Pauline Stackhouse; three brothers, David Burger, Edwin Burger and infant Larry Dee Burger. She is survived by two brothers, Bobby Burger and Jerry Burger, both of Harrisonville, and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
