Bettie Lee (VanMeter) Bartlett, 74, Harrisonville, MO, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, MO. Funeral services 11:00 AM, Monday, January 21, 2008 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville. Burial will be at the Dudenville Missouri Cemetery, Golden City, MO at 3:00 PM Monday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society of Kansas City.

Bettie was born August 13, 1933 in Pellis Township, Platte County, MO to Norvell and Minnie (Muff) VanMeter. On April 4, 1953, Bettie married Darius Bartlett in Dudenville, MO. Bettie was a dedicated caregiver throughout her life. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Harrisonville, MO.

Bettie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Roy VanMeter. Survivors include her husband, Darius, of the home; four daughters, Patricia Carson and her husband, Boyce, Belton, MO, Barbara Bartlett and her son, Tyler, Harrisonville, MO, Kathleen May, Raytown, MO, Suzanne Bragulla and her sons, James and Thad, Newington, CT and Raymond Bartlett and his son, Gregory, Harrisonville, MO; brothers, Walter VanMeter and wife, Ginger, Gravois Mills, MO, Kenneth VanMeter and wife, Jean, Roach, MO; sisters, Margaret Sims, Tucson, AZ and Mary Bryan and husband, David, Marshfield, MO and two god-grandchildren, Nancy Otis and David Reimal, who gave her so much happiness during her life.
