Bette Kay Smith, 85, Belton, MO, died Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the Pleasant Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Hill, MO. Funeral services were held Monday, December 10, 2018 at Overland Park Baptist in Overland Park, KS. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City, MO.
Bette was born November 19, 1933 in Lee's Summit, MO, the daughter of Harley and Lena (Teale) Livingston. She grew up in Kansas City, MO and was a 1951 graduate of Northeast High School. She married Walter A. Smith on July 9, 1952 in Kansas City, MO.
She had worked for Bendix before retiring in 1977. Bette then moved to Brookville, IN and worked at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, OH and at a doctor's office. She moved to Belton, MO in 2002, and worked for Wal-Mart in Belton, in the shoe department. Bette was a member of Overland Park Baptist in Overland Park, Kansas.
Bette was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter on December 31, 2000, a daughter, Debi K. (Smith) Toia, four brothers, and one sister. She is survived by one son, Walter Alan Smith ( (Pilar), Canal Fulton, OH; one daughter, Lenora Redenbaugh (Kevin), Belton, MO; three brothers, Richard Livingston (Blanche), Kansas City, MO, Bette's twin brother, Harry Livingston (Marilyn), Independence, MO, and Jim Livingston (Mary), Houston, TX; three sisters, Jessie Oswald, Liberty, MO, Sharon Addison (Sonny), Independence, MO, and JoAnn Blake, Sugar Creek, MO; 5 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
