Bert Eugene Turner, 64, Archie, Missouri, died Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at the V.A. Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri, with visitation from 10:00-11:00. Burial will be in Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adrian, Missouri.
Bert was born July 12, 1950 in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Bill and Dorothy (McDonough) Dittman. He married Gladys B. Avey on August 21, 1992 in Dunlap Park in Pleasanton, Kansas. Bert was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He had lived in Belton and Raymore, Missouri before moving to Archie in 2010. He was an HVAC construction contractor, both commercial and residential. Bert was a member of the VFW Post No. 8220, Belton, Missouri.
Bert is survived by his wife, Gladys, of the home; two sons, Robert Turner and Travis Turner, both of Archie, Missouri; brothers, Jimmy Tate, Clyde May, Johnny May, all of Omaha, Nebraska, Gary Holcomb, Independence, Missouri and John Tate and Ed Tate, both of Columbus, Nebraska; sisters, Nancy Peterson of Omaha, Nebraska and Charlotte Gausmann of Seward, Nebraska; 4 grandchildren, Robert, Dillon, Ashlynn, and Gracelynn Turner, and 5 great-grandchildren.
