Bonita Grace Kingsvolver, 93, Harrisonville, MO, died Thursday, March 22, 2007 at Cass Medical Center, Harrisonville. Funeral services were held Monday, March 26 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, MO. Contributions may be made to the Harrisonville First Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
Bernita was born in Osborne County, Kansas on Friday the 13th, September, 1913, the daughter of John Reed and Mable M. (Moore) Hutchison. She married Walter S. Kingsolver on February 24, 1934.
Bernita worked for the Grace Company for 20 years and retired as a supervisor in 1979. She was a member of the Harrisonville First Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School class. She was a member of the WMU and a charter member of Faithful Friends. She was a Pink Lady for many years for the Cass Medical Center Auxiliary.
Bernita was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter, two brothers, Ralph and Glen Hutchison and one sister, Dorothy Bunch. She is survived by three sons, Jack Kingsolver, Halsey, Oregon, David Kingsolver and his wife, Patty, Kansas City, MO and James Kingsolver, Amarillo, Texas; two daughters, Kay Davis and Beverly Unnewehr, both of Harrisonville, MO; one brother, Stanley Hutchison, Bakersfield, CA; two sisters, Pauline Spannuth, Overland Park, KS and Zella De Welles, Newport Beach, CA; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Bernita was a loving daughter, daughter-in-law, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and her loving memory will live in our hearts forever.
