Obituary
Bernice Burris, 83, Harrisonville, MO, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
Bernice was born January 5, 1928 in Urich, MO, the daughter of Jesse Herman and Irene Francis (Bridges) Brown. Bernice worked for AT&T as a machine operator for 29 years before retiring in 1988. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and faithful worker at the Faith Baptist Church in Harrisonville.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Dixie Moore. She is survived by two sons, Melvin and Jim Burris and their families; one sister, Georgia Cumpton and family; one brother, Junior Brown and family; other family and many friends.
