Bernard "Bernie" James Beaven, 80, of Peculiar, MO died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at his home. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville, MO. Visitation 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville with Rosary service at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
Bernie was born December 1, 1930 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Emmett Andrew and Lauretta Mary (Maguire) Beaven. He married Patricia Marie Kenter on January 18, 1958.
Bernie worked as an auto glass technician and glazier, installing commercial windows until his retirement in 1992. He liked working out at the Belton Community Center and going to the Lake of the Ozarks where he enjoyed his cabin. He was a member of the Glaziers Union.
Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Patricia, three brothers, Emmett, Charles and John Beaven, one sister, Bonnie Murphy and one granddaughter, Emily. He is survived by one son, Patrick Beaven and his wife, Jolene, Cleveland, MO; two daughters, Bernadette Sears and her husband, Jeff, Louisburg, KS and Christine Blurton and her husband, Dan, Peculiar, MO; one sister, Mary Dujakovich and her husband, Ted, Kansas City, MO; nine grandchildren, Rayna, Vinnie, Brittany, Jacob, Bridget, Julia, Millie, Josie and Billy; one great-granddaughter, Delilah and many nephews and nieces.
