Belva Irene Wright, 87, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2012 at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lamar, Missouri. Friends may call from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville. Belva was born August 26, 1924 in Chicopee, Kansas, the daughter of Dewey and Lottie Belle (Russel) Ogan. She married Lenvil Marion Wright on July 4, 1945 in Girard, Kansas. Belva had lived in Lamar, Missouri before moving to Kansas City, Missouri in 1953. She moved to Harrisonville in 1972.
Belva worked as the bookkeeper for Lynn Wright Meat Company in Harrisonville. She was a U. S. Marine veteran and was a member of the Women's Marine Association (WMA).
Belva was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Lenvil Marion Wright on October 21, 1995. She is survived by three sons, Gene Wright, Pleasant Valley, Missouri, David Wright, Dillsboro, Indiana and John Wright, Grandview, Missouri; one daughter, Wendy Preston, Harrisonville, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
