IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Jean
Robinson
December 19, 1948 – April 4, 2025
Barbara J. Robinson, born December 19, 1948, in Kansas City, Kansas, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025. She married her one and only true love, Jeffrey Robinson, at a young age. Together, they built a beautiful life while raising their two sons, Bret and Trent Robinson.
Barbara worked in advertising for many years, selling ads for the local newspaper. While doing so, she was also the heart of the home. Living in Hamilton, Missouri, she cared deeply for her family, offered support in quiet ways, and created a home filled with warmth and love. She gave her best in the ways that mattered most—by being present, by showing love in her everyday actions, and by always putting her family first.
When she wasn't working, Barb found joy in life's simple comforts. She loved sewing and playing cards with friends, but some of her favorite moments were the peaceful evenings spent with a cup of half-and-half coffee in hand. Whether she was watching a movie, enjoying the lake view, reminiscing on the patio, or catching up with family, Barb had a way of turning everyday moments into lasting memories. Her gift for conversation and quick wit made every visit with her feel like home.
After years of traveling back and forth for weekends at the lake, Barbara and Jeff eventually purchased a home in Sunrise Beach, MO. Barb made a heartfelt sacrifice by selling her new car to help with the down payment, a true testament to her love for family and the dream they shared. What began as a getaway became something so much more—the lake was her sanctuary. Friends and family were always welcome, and the time spent there became some of life's most treasured memories. The lake held a special place in her heart, and the joy she found there will always be remembered.
From there, they opened C & R Golf Carts and ran the business together as a team. After Jeff's passing, Barb continued to run the family business on her own for the last three years. Today, that legacy will continue as her grandchildren carry on C & R Golf Cart Rentals in memory of their grandparents.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey Robinson; her parents, Jack and Cora Bates; and her sister, Cora Lynn Haug. She is survived by her two sons: Daniel Trent Robinson (Eddie Self) of Shawnee, KS; and Bret Robinson (Bama) of Harrisonville, MO. Barbara was a proud grandmother to Mathew Rew of Harrisonville, MO; Jessica Spinks (Robert) of Lee's Summit, MO; and Brandon Robinson (Matthew Mullin) of Lee's Summit, MO. She was blessed with four great-grandchildren: Nolan Spinks, Robert (Bo) Spinks, Carter Spinks, and Josslyn Spinks; as well as, several nieces and nephews. Barbara is also survived by two sisters: Jacqueline Salas (Victor) of Mesa, Arizona; and Ruth Alrick (Kenny) of Eldon, MO; one brother, Leslie Bates (Elizabeth) of Hamilton, MO; and one brother-in-law, Randy Haug, of Lake of the Ozark, MO.
To know Barbara was to love her. Her presence filled a room with warmth, and her absence now leaves a space that words cannot fill. Though this obituary shares pieces of her story, her legacy lives on in every laugh she sparked, every lesson she passed down, and every life she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 17, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 8380 N Highway 13, Hamilton, Missouri. All who knew and loved Barbara are welcome to attend and share memories in her honor. A committal of ashes will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112. All are welcome to attend.
