Barbara Joyce Muchmore, 65, Cleveland, MO, died Saturday, August 23, 2008 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at the West Line Christian Church in West Line, MO. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, August 25, 2008 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO. Burial will be in Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, Missouri. Barbara was born August 17, 1943 in Harrisonville, MO, the daughter of William Dewey and Dortha (Davenport) Crook. She married James D. Muchmore on May 24, 1965. Barbara was a 1961 graduate of Cass Midway High School. She received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 1965 from Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Development in 1984. Barbara worked for the Consolidated School District #4 in Grandview, MO, as an elementary teacher, for 27 years before retiring in 2001. After retiring, Barbara became a speaker for Stonecroft Ministries and traveled the states of Iowa, Kansas, Arkansas and Missouri, sharing God's faithfulness.
Barbara had accepted Jesus as her Savior at the age of 12 at the Freeman Baptist Church. She had taught Sunday school, Bible school and Bible study. She was a current member of the West Line Christian Church.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, James, of the home; one son, Daniel Paul Muchmore and his wife, Jill, Greenwood, MO; one brother, Robert LeRoy Crook and his wife, Shirley, Cleveland, MO; one sister, Linda Kaye Seabaugh and her husband, Jon, Cleveland, MO; three grandchildren, Mykeillah Dillon, Freeman, MO, Wyatt Muchmore, Greenwood, MO and Josie Muchmore, Greenwood, MO.
