Barbara Jean Hyde, 82, Garden City, MO, died Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at her daughter's home in Garden City.  Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Twin Lakes Hospice, Clinton, MO.

Barbara was born July 20, 1935 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Eugene R. and Christene D. (Woods) Kimes. She married Lester Gene Hyde on June 20, 1953 in San Louis Obispo, CA. She had lived in Lowry City, MO and Kansas City, MO before moving to Garden City in 1973.

Barbara worked for the Cass County Assessor's Office, the License Bureau in Harrisonville, and also as a teller for the Garden City Bank. She was a member of the Garden City Methodist Church.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lester "Bob" Hyde on January 26, 1995, one brother, Bill Kimes, stepfather, Aubrey Thompson, and three aunts. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Koelling (Pete), Christie Burton (Kyle), and one son, Paul Hyde (Debra), all of Garden City, MO; one sister, Glenda Gash (Terry), Harrisonville, MO; niece, Renada Rasmussen (Tracy); cousin, Carol Panagos (Dick); 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; other nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
