Barbara Jean Bradfield, 71, of Peculiar, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Funeral services were  held  on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO. . Burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, MO.

Born on April 9, 1954, in Leavenworth, Kansas, Barbara was the daughter of James and Nancy L. (Head) May. She lived in Leavenworth before moving to Peculiar 38 years ago. On January 12, 1984, she married her husband, Edward Bradfield, in Leavenworth, KS. Barbara was a remarkable artist at heart, known for her beautiful artwork and handmade woodworking projects that brought joy to her family and friends. She had a playful spirit that loved the thrill of playing Bingo. Her boundless love for her family was exemplified in the warmth she shared with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Christie Welch; and a granddaughter, April Brumfield. Barbara is survived by her husband, Edward Bradfield; two daughters, Michelle Brumfield, Independence, MO; and Heather Billings, Ft. Scott, KS; a son, Brian Irick, Cameron, MO; a brother, Robert May, Raytown, MO; a sister, Linda Johnson, Minnesota; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
