Barbara was born November 11, 1936 in Kansas City, MO, daughter of Charles Meredith Cox, also known as Charles H. Cox, and Dorthy May Hartman. She was united in marriage to Norman Doyle Bass on October 5, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri. She partnered with her husband in business and was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Anyone that knows any of them knows that she is a star in their eyes, and that's all that ever mattered to her. She was an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family and friends and always remained strong. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer help. Barbara was a member of Freedom Point Church in Garden City, MO.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother, Donald Eugene Cox; and one granddaughter, Cherie Rochelle Mickelberry. She is survived by her four daughters, Deborah Bass and Carlisle Branch of Richmond, VA, Rebecka Mickelberry and Lou Garcia of Hollister, MO, Terri Vokins and husband, Daniel of Olathe, KS, Denise Spencer and husband John (JT) of Garden City; four grandchildren, Lisa Bass Pritchett and husband, Sean of Garden City, MO, Amber Spencer and Jorge Fernandez of Garden City, MO, Nikki Spencer and Chris Hernandez of Garden City, MO, and Westin Mickelberry and Shana Vangilder of Holden, MO, 12 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren and many other relatives.
