Atha June Hembree, 91, Raytown, Missouri, died Monday, October 6, 2014 in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri, with visitation from 10:00-11:00. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Contributions may be made to Raytown Christian Church or the Misssouri State Office of DAR, Boonville, Missouri.

Atha June was born June 4, 1923 in Dade County, Missouri, the daughter of Clyde and Laura (Pyle) Hembree. She was a 1941 graduate of Lamar High School. She moved to Raytown in 1992. Atha June worked for Hallmark in Kansas City for 42 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Sarah Lewis Boone Chapter DAR, Kansas City, Missouri. She was also a member of the Raytown Christian Church and a former member of the Hyde Park Christian Church and the Broadview Christian Church in Kansas City.

Atha June was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Doral, Selden and Wendell Hembree. She is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Brown, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Flo Hembree and Carol Pitts, both of Kansas City, Missouri, and numerous nieces and nephews.
