Arlo W. "Shorty" Hinds, 86, Adrian, MO, died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Adrian Manor. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 12 at the Atkinson Chapel in Adrian with visitation from 9:00-10:00. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Broughton Cemetery in Clay Center, KS.

Shorty was born April 19, 1923 in Broughton, KS, the son of Maurice and Edith (White) Hinds. He worked for TWA Airlines as an airline inspector for 30 years. He was a member of the Western Missouri Antique Tractor Association and the Antique Machinery Association. He was a member of the Adrian Lions Club and was Lion of the year 1992 – 1993. Shorty loved traveling and had friends nationwide.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two children, Judy Bell and Clifford Hinds. He is survived by one son, Raymond Hinds of Kansas City, MO; five daughters, Janice Noble of Washington, Linda Cox of Nebraska, Phyllis Blackmore of Adrian, Missouri, Darlene Pruden and Stefanie Downey, both of Adrian, Missouri; one sister, Dorothy Carlson of Clay Center, KS; 11 grandchildren, Rabamba Noble, David Bell, Kathy Jo Davis, Cynthia Coalbank, Shara Williams, Preston Roby, Clayton Roby, Maranda Downey, Jordan Downey, Brittany Moorhead and Dylanjer Downey and 13 great-grandchildren.
