Ann Lorraine Edwards, of Harrisonville, Missouri, left this world peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at the age of 88. Funeral services for Ann were held at the  Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville on Monday, June 2, 2025. Ann was laid to rest in Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville. Memorial contributions are suggested to KU Cancer Center or Cass Regional Medical Center.

Born on November 11, 1936, in Kansas City, MO, to Artie and Irene (Swope) Wilson, Ann was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. Ann graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City and embarked on a fulfilling career, initially working for the IRS before dedicating many years as a payroll clerk for the Harrisonville Public School District, where she ultimately retired.

On February 24, 1957, she married the love of her life, Jerry Lee Edwards, and they shared 47 wonderful years together until his passing in 2004, raising their three children: Vicki, David, and Darryl. A vibrant and social person by nature, Ann was deeply involved in her community. Following her career at the IRS and with Cass R-IX administration, she volunteered as an auxiliary staff member at Cass Regional Medical Center and was an active member of Faith Baptist Church, contributing to its inception and enjoying countless Bible study sessions with friends. Her passion for life shone through in her many hobbies, which included reading, playing cards, completing crossword and word search puzzles, visiting the casinos, journaling, and watching movies. However, nothing brought her more joy than the time she spent dining out with her friends and her family; as well as, the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her legacy will live on through them.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jerry. She is survived by her children: Vicki Gough and her husband, Ron, of Harrisonville, MO; David Edwards and his wife, Kay, of Harrisonville, MO; and Darryl Edwards and his wife, Elizabeth, of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren: Aaron, Eli, Leah, Jacob, Drew, Riley, and Emilee; eight great-grandchildren; her brother, Jerry Lee (Judith) Wilson; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. She will be deeply missed by her family and the many friends whose lives she enriched with her joy and compassion.
