Alma Ann Haug, 91, Harrisonville, Missouri, died peacefully at her home on Monday, November 12, 2012. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 14 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville. Burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
Alma was born December 14, 1920 in Baileyville, Kansas, the daughter of Bernard and Clara (Nolte) Kramer. She graduated from Catholic school in Seneca, Kansas. She married Vincent Haug on November 22, 1941, who died January 10, 1969. She later married William "Bill" Park Shiffer, who died November 1, 1993.
Alma had lived in Harrisonville since 1941. She worked as the receptionist for Anaconda Wire and Cable Mfg. from their beginning, in 1963, until she retired in 1979. Alma was a charter member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Red Hats and Delvers in Harrisonville.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Vincent Haug and Bill Schiffer, and one son, Larry Vincent Haug. She is survived by three daughters, Jeanette Ann Astor and Alice Marie Bodson, both of Des Moines, Iowa, and Patricia Louise Gereau of Iowa City, Iowa; two sisters, Betty Baldwin of Wichita, Kansas, and Mary Holtgraver of Gardner, Kansas; three grandchildren, Elyssa Harvey, Gregory Harvey, and Christine Martin, and 11 great-grandchildren.
