Allen Shotwell Runyon, 93, Adrian, MO, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler, MO.  Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO. Burial  in Belton Cemetery in Belton, MO.

Allen was born March 25, 1928 in Belton, MO, a son of Andrew and Louie Lee (Harper) Runyon.  He married Joyce Arlene Kinnison on September 1, 1949.  He had lived in Belton, MO and Freeman, MO for over 40 years before moving to Adrian in 1988.

Allen was a farmer and a cattleman.  He also worked for RED Construction in Greenwood, MO.  He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce on October 29, 2021; one brother; six sisters; son-in-law, Ed Hughes; and grandson, Jake Farr.  He is survived by son, Allen "Pete" Runyon, Adrian, MO; three daughters: Kathy Hughes, Lee's Summit, MO; Diane Goode (Dave), Lone Jack, MO; and Marsha Farr (Shane), Independence, MO; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
