Alice May (White) Tabb, 82, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the Valley Park Retirement Center in Holts Summit, MO, after struggling with complications from a stroke. Funeral services were held  on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO. Alice was born on May 26, 1944, in St. Charles, Iowa, the daughter of Lelan and Dorothy (Vasey) White. She was raised in Iowa and received her elementary and high school education at several schools throughout the state. As a young woman, Alice dreamed of a better life for herself and she invested her considerable energy in seeing it come to fruition. She earned her Bachelor's degree in the college now known as Truman State University. She continued her education with a Master's degree at Hannibal-LaGrange University and an Education Specialist degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. As a university student, Alice became friends with Winona Gasswint and her husband, Clay. Their friendship endured for the rest of Alice's life.

Alice devoted much of her life to helping and educating others. She served as a social worker in Kansas City, MO, and as a teacher at Oak Park High School. She assisted students with writing skills at William Jewell College and taught business communications for Columbia College. 

In 1970, Alice met Thomas Lynn Tabb Sr. when he tackled her in a football game. The two were married on May 15, 1971, and built a rich life together, investing everything in their two sons, Thomas Lynn Tabb Jr. and David Lee Tabb. Alice and Tom invested significant effort in managing and maintaining a few rental houses throughout the Kansas City area. Alice and Tom loved taking yearly road trips with their boys. Together they traveled to all 48 contiguous states; as well as, to Canada and Mexico. Over time, the family was active at Broadway Baptist Church in Kansas City, Liberty Manor Baptist Church, and First Baptist Church of Blue Springs.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Lelan White; as well as, her brothers: Dale, Larry, and Wayne White. She is survived by her husband, Tom Tabb Sr., Liberty, MO; her sons: Tom Lynn Tabb Jr. and wife, Heather, Holts Summit, MO; and David Lee Tabb and wife, Natasha Foley, the Netherlands; her brother, Ricky White, and wife, Brenda, Grand River, IA; and her grandchildren: Kevin Tabb (fiancée, Kyndall Evans), Carter Tabb, and Claire Tabb.
