Alice Maxine Bartles, 79, Appleton City, Missouri died Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Appleton City Manor, Appleton City, Missouri. A memorial graveside service will be held 10:30am Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
Alice was born January 22, 1935, to Estel Alvin and Alvin Pearl Trigg Welch in Adrian, Missouri. Alice was married to Thomas Olvernow Bartles on June 15, 1951, in Harrisonville, Missouri. Tom and Alice had two sons: Jimmy and Donnie.
Alice previously lived in Marshfield Missouri and San Diego, California, and worked many years for Sears, Roebuck and Wal-Mart. After her retirement and moving to Appleton City, Alice attended the Round Prairie Baptist Church, the Red Hatters, and was a Board member of the Appleton City Library.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her son, James, and her husband, Tom on September 12, 1997, She is survived by her son Donnie of Prineville, Oregon; three grandsons, James Bartles and wife, Julie, of Conyers, Georgia, Charles Bartles of Ladysmith Wisconsin, and Lloyd Bartles and Brooke of Chapin, South Carolina; great-grandchildren, Brett, Kara, Zoe, Lexis, Drake, and Jimmy Bartles; and daughter-in-law, Lynda Bartles of Ladysmith, Wisconsin; brother, Laverne Welch and Roma; sisters, Helen Lee, June Walker, Earlene Vaughn and Ron, Delores Metcalf, and Sue Brown and Don; special nephew, Doug James and Marla; and several nephews, nieces, and friends.
