Adrian "Ray" Humphries, 69, Archie, MO, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 27 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery in Drexel, MO. Friends may call from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, June 26 at the chapel. Ray was born August 19, 1939 in Braymer, MO, the son of Charles Adrian and Iva Catherine (Newell) Humphreys. He graduated from Lamar, MO. He married Peggy Quick on November 15, 1959 in Poteau, OK. Ray was a resident of Archie for over 30 years.

Ray worked for General Motors at the Leeds Plant in Kansas City. He was a member of the UAW Local #31. He was a member of the Everett Community Church in Archie. Ray was a U.S. Air Force veteran, landing in Vietnam several times to deliver supplies.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Peggy, of the home; one son, Terry Humphries and his wife, Carla of Holden, MO; three sisters, Arietta Mallory of Archie, MO, Linda Mix of Wellsville, KS, and Laurel Herbinger of Lamar, MO; one grandson, Matt Humphries and his wife, Becca and one granddaughter, Amy Humphries and several nieces and nephews.
