Obituary

Wilbur Charles Hutson, 91, Lee's Summit, MO, died Monday, December 24, 2018 at his home.  Funeral services were held  Monday, December 31, 2018 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.  Burial  in Peculiar Cemetery, Peculiar MO.

Wilbur was born March 25, 1927, in Rich Hill, Missouri, the son of Charles and Erma (Houghten) Hutson.  He grew up in the  Norris and Blairstown, Missouri area.  Wilbur married Lois Jean Hargrave on December 26, 1948, and they were married almost 50 years before her death,  November 18, 1998. Wilbur started working at Bendix as a machinist in 1947, and retired in 1978 after 31 years.  He moved from Kansas City to Peculiar in 1956 and to Lee's Summit in 2008. Wilbur and Lois also ran an antique store and furniture stripping business for 30 years.

He married Barbara Lambrecht on October 16, 2004.

Wilbur was a Navy veteran of WWII,  a member of the Lee's Summit VFW, and a  member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Lee's Summit.

Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Lois Jean, a son, David Hutson, three brothers and one sister.  He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of the home; a son, Dean Hutson and his wife, Betty, Harrisonville; two daughters, Sherry Staton and husband, Mark, Cole Camp, MO, and Lynn Cartwright and husband, Jimmy, Peculiar; his extended family, Kathy Curtis and Jim Summers;  two step-daughters, Michelle Wilson, Lee's Summit, and Sherry Taggert, Jefferson City, MO; his mother-in-law, Artie Lambrecht; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
